BC Hydro sponsors free training sessions for all workplaces (private or public sector) where workers may encounter electrical risks on the job. These programs are designed to make your workforce aware of what they can do to prevent accidents involving high voltage electricity, and learn what to do to protect themselves against injury or death in the event of a contact with electrical lines or equipment.

FREE PROGRAM (sponsored by BC Hydro):
This Train-the-Trainer workshop is designed to assist Fire Training Officers in educating fellow fire fighters on the dangers of common electrical hazards that may be encountered when fighting fires involving electricity and to make fire fighters better equipped to evaluate risks, make decisions and take actions to keep everyone safe. The workshop is delivered by instructors from the Electrical Industry Training Institute (EITI).
First Responders High-Voltage Electrical Awareness
Are you a first responder? Do you know how to respond if you encounter a downed power line, or other electrical hazard, in the course of your work? BC Hydro has developed a training program to help first responders be aware of and avoid the electrical hazards they may encounter in emergency situations.
